Welcome! I'm glad you're here!
I am passionate about supporting others on the journey to find their best self. Life can get messy and complicated at times. We have all walked through struggles, traumatic experiences, difficult relationships, failures and grief. I too have walked this path and I believe that everyone has resiliency and the capacity for change.
In my practice, I use methods to promote self-understanding and resiliency with my clients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. I tailor a client's sessions based on their individual needs and goals they want to accomplish in therapy. I believe that all people deserve empathy and support so I provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere for clients to heal and move forward.
Some of the specific client needs I work with include: ADHD, oppositional/defiant behavior, spectrum disorders, social skills, coping skills, communication/conflict, depression, anxiety, anger management, life transitions, trauma, parenting, self-harm and grief.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern State University and have been in the counseling field since 2005. I have worked as a high school counselor, at a non-profit agency and currently my own private practice. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health which means I have specialized training and receive continuing education specific to working with women pre/post pregnancy and their families.
I engage in regular trainings to stay current on the most effective therapeutic approaches. My experience is providing therapy to children, teens and adults. My additional trainings include:
